Power Boost For DC/DC Converters

March 3, 2005
The VI-HAM, harmonic attenuator module, is a universal ac input, FPC front-end module optimized for use with V375 Series of dc-dc converters.

The module can be used with the converters (available in quarter, half, and fullbrick packages) up to 600 W, resulting in a power conversion system with twice the power density, fewer components, and at a lower cost. The VI-HAM consists of a fullwave rectifier, a proprietary high-frequency zero-current switching boost converter, and includes active inrush current limiting, overtemperature and short-circuit protection, control, and housekeeping circuitry.
