Spring Plungers

Oct. 26, 2006
A line of Solid Drive Spring plungers are available in new sizes.

Spring plungers incorporate hex drive, plunger, and body, and are available in inch (2A-UNC) and metric (Class 6g) thread sizes. Through-hardened steel tips provide extra durability, and a close tolerance between tip and body provides better fit between parts for smooth motion and the precision and reliability required in workholding applications. A special Solid Drive design eliminates the need for a setscrew. Torquing down a setscrew creates a concentrated point force that can separate it from the plunger body. The plungers also do away with lost springs and the need for easy-out tools. The spring plungers are available in low carbon steel or stainless with Delrin, low carbon steel, or stainless tips and in a black-oxide finish.
