New Product: Linear Bearings

May 22, 2008
A new high-performance series of linear-precision bearings reportedly has three times the load capacity and can provide up to 27 times the travel life of a conventional slide bushing.

Available in inch (3/16 to 1-in. bore) and metric (10 to 25-mm bore) sizes, the bushings feature a self-aligning capability — the load-plate ends are thinner so the center acts as a fulcrum to compensate for slight misalignment between the shaft and housing. A floating integral-wiper seal lets the bushing self-align while maintaining equal and constant contact to the shaft. Load plates “float” in the outer sleeve allowing for clearance between the ball elements and shaft.
