Optical Micrometer System

July 7, 2005
The LS-7010 optical micrometer system performs high-speed measurements on moving targets in fast production and assembly lines.

Resolution is 0.01 m with repeatability of ± 0.06 m. Samples are targeted at a rate of 2,400 samples/sec. The device has no motors or rotating prism mechanisms; instead a high-intensity LED light produces the continuous 6-mm-wide beam with no gaps in target detection. The addition of a high-speed linear CCD increases measurement speed and accuracy. The unit's sensor head has no moving parts, eliminating heat and vibration that affect sampling speed and measurement.
