Cordless Drill And Driver Kit

June 7, 2006
The PowerMaxx Kit includes a 1.5-lb drill/driver, lightweight carrying case, two batteries, and a charger.

The drill's switch is designed for right and left-handed operation, and the forward/reverse lever can be switched with just one finger. A magnetic 1 /4-in. hex tool holder simplifies bit changes and the screwdriver converts to a drill in just seconds. The tool uses a 4.8-V battery that drives up to 95 #10 x 1-in. screws on one charge and recharges in under 2 hr. The drill can go through1 /8-in. steel and 1 /4-in. soft wood using the 1 /4-in. solid-steel keyless chuck. An offset driver rotates 360° for driving screws in tight spaces. A two-speed gearbox and soft-start motor deliver a no-load speed of 0-200 rpm in screw mode and 0-600 rpm in drill mode. Adjustable torque settings ensure proper torque for each job, with a maximum torque of 80 lb-in. The gear housing is constructed of industrial-strength metal.
