Misumi USA Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., has announced the appointment of Masanori Suzuki as its new president. Suzuki, 43, was formerly the general manager of strategic planning for Misumi Corp. in Japan, the parent company of Misumi USA. In that capacity, he worked on organizational restructuring as well as the exploration of merger and acquisition opportunities to sell non-core business units and strengthen the company's supply capability.

Prior to joining Misumi, Suzuki was vice president of the service department for i2 Technologies Japan in Tokyo. He has also served as chief of the Change Promotion Center for Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K., also in Tokyo. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he attained his MBA, Suzuki received his Bachelor's degree in engineering from Keio University in Japan.
