Circular Filters

March 8, 2007
Circular variable neutral density (CVND) filters for optics change light intensity from 100% to less than 0.1%.

As filters rotate, beam intensity changes due to variations in metallic coatings. Gradient coatings can be supplied from rotations of 45 to 360° and operate from the UV to far IR. They can provide density neutrality for narrow to wide-band applications. Filters are fully customizable in optical densities, transmission gradients, substrate type, coating materials, and diameter — 1 to 8 in. (22 to 200 mm).
