Embedded PC Board For Industry

Sept. 16, 2004
The EBC-C3-1G is a 1-GHz EBX-compatible singleboard computer (SBC) that runs Windows CE.NET, Windows XP embedded, Linux, and other x86-compatible operating systems such as VxWorks and QNX.

The SBC supports up to 512 Mbytes of PC133 SDRAM in a standard 168-pin socket. Type I or II Compact Flash cards are supported with up to 4 Gbytes of solid-state storage. A separate 32-pin socket accepts an M-Systems DiskOnChip flash device, SRAM, or EPROM. The board has dual Ultra DMA 33/66/100 hard disk interfaces and a 3.5/5.25-in. floppy disk controller. Other features include a high-performance, 4X AGP flatpanel/CRT video controller with onboard LVDS for digital flat-panel displays. Two Intel 82551ER Ethernet controllers support 10/100 Mbps high-speed data transfers for networking and communications. Four RS-232 serial asynchronous serial ports are provided, two of which also support RS-422/485 levels. The board also contains a root hub and four USB channels for even more serial I/O. The EBCC3-1G measures 5.75 x 8.0 in. (146 x 203 mm), operates in temperatures ranging from 40 to 60°C, requires only 5 V, and typically draws 3.3 A with 256 Mbytes of SDRAM.
