Gap-Filling Material

Nov. 9, 2006
The Gap Pad 5000S35 fiberglass-reinforced gap-filling material has high thermal conductivity (5.0 W/mK) for low thermal resistance while maintaining low bulk hardness (35 Shore 00).

The material's soft and compliant resin formulation does not crumble, flake, tear, or come apart, making it suitable for fragile components. The material has an asymmetrical laminate construction with embedded-fiberglass reinforcement on the top side for puncture, shear, and tear resistance, and a naturally tacky lower-modulus gap-filling rubber on the bottom. Both sides of the material have natural inherent tack, eliminating the need for additional adhesive layers. The material comes in 8 3 16-in. sheets or as die-cut parts in standard thicknesses of 20 to 125 mil.
