Hydrodynamic pressure bearings

Dec. 8, 2005
The BBSPLN Series of hydrodynamic pressure bearings weigh 30% less than conventional ball bearings.

The bearings are made by stacking petal-shaped laminated aluminumsilicon alloy plates in a stainless-steel case with a polyurea-thickened grease containing antioxidant and anticorrosion additive. High-speed, light-load application uses that benefit from the devices include compact-fan motors, paper feeders in copying machines and printers, laptop computers, and micromotors. Seven versions are available in 1 to 6-mm ID. Maximum speed range is 6,000 to 20,000 rpm.
