Software helps users understand the costs of products

March 8, 2007
Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) software helps engineering supply chains understand the costs of products.

For example, engineers can cost-out designs using all the common manufacturing processes for sheet-metal parts. A new capability also estimates costs for subsequent press operations with deep-drawn parts, such as trimming, ironing, and bending. Engineers can also estimate the cost of small welded subassemblies and compare them with single parts.
