The surface-mount adapter board is modeled on the BGA package. Package contacts extend out from under the package to scalloped castellations around the edge of the adapter board, lending itself to either reflow or hand-soldering applications. The converters are available in either buck or boost models with power output to 15 W and output current to 4 A. Input voltages of 2.5 to 6 V produce outputs from 0.6 to 6 V with up to 95% efficiency.
