Motor And Drive Troubleshooting Kit

Jan. 12, 2006
The 1587/MDT is an electric-motor and drive troubleshooting kit that combines a 1587 insulation multimeter, an i400 current clamp, and a 9040 rotary field indicator.

The 1587 insulation multimeter combines a true-RMS digital multimeter and an insulation tester with a resistance range up to 2 G with five output voltages from 50 to 1,000 V. The i400 lets the 1587 measure circuit currents from 1 to 400 A ac without breaking the circuit. The 9040 lets users check the rotation of 3 f motors. Both the 1587 and i400 have CAT III 1,000 V/CAT IV 600 V overvoltage ratings while the 9040 is rated CAT III 600 V.
