String Encoder

March 8, 2007
The PT8600 Model string encoder provides linear measurement up to 50 in. with a signal output comparable to that of a high-resolution incremental or absolute encoder.

The unit consists of industrial rotary encoders mated to linear cable reels. The PT8600 supports 2.0 and 2.5-in.-sq flange encoder mounts, as well as 58 to 65-mm face-mount encoders. The encoders provide all common digital outputs, including quadrature, SSI, and DeviceNet.
