Encoder for press brakes

Dec. 8, 2005
Model LS 1679 linear encoder has a sealed linear scale with a roller guide.
Resolution is 5 or 1 m after fourfold evaluation. There is no pluggable cable assembly, so the device has either a left or right cable exit to ensure mechanical compatibility with press brakes. The four ball bearings of the carriage are guided along two steel rails on the aluminum housing. The position guide in the encoder protects the bearing surfaces from dust and contamination. Standard measuring lengths are 470 mm, with lengths to 720 mm also available. Heidenhain Corp., 333 E. State Pkwy., Schaumburg, IL 60173, (847) 490-1191, heidenhain.com
