Ceramic-based potting and casting materials are designed for the production of high-power, high-temperature electrical devices, as well as molds and tooling that must withstand high temperatures. Based on alumina, magnesia, silica, zirconia, and silicon carbide, the materials offer special properties with respect to operating temperature, thermal conductivity, dielectric strength, and mechanical strength. Typical applications include temperature probes, electrical feedthrus, gas ignitors, heating elements, welding jigs, and induction-heating tools.
