Stainless-Steel Motors

Sept. 15, 2005
The Premium All-Stainless Steel line of permanent-magnet dc motors is designed for the demanding requirements of pharmaceutical, food-processing, and beverage industries.

They are also suited for clean-room and severe chemical-processing applications involving frequent wash down with corrosive solutions containing caustic lye, bleach, nitric acid, and concentrated surfactants.

They feature exterior components of 300-Series stainless steel, Viton seals, and a laser-etched nameplate. O-rings seal end shields to the frame, with double-lip shaft seals on both ends of the TEFC motors. Removable hydrophobic breathers equalize pressure and keep out moisture. Double-sealed bearings are prelubricated with moisture-resistant, high-temperature grease for long life, and protective coatings on armature and frame/magnet assembly resist corrosion. The motors are available in NEMA and IEC (metric) mounting configurations.
