A 20-mil pitch X-Y linear stepper motor features microstep resolutions of 1 µm. It improves accuracy and cycle time in wafer-probe machines making the air-bearing stage suitable for high-accuracy semiconductor manufacturing and test. Units don't exhibit oscillations, therefore secondary operations such as trimming, test, or inspection can take place on a stable motionless platform.
