Flexing Couplings

Sept. 15, 2005
Flexing couplings come in two styles: highly flexible six beam and torsionally rigid three beam.

The couplings have zero backlash, are reversible, come in stainless steel or aluminum with setscrew or clamp hubs, and accommodate any combination of axial motion and angular and parallel misalignment. Flexing couplings are suitable for power-transmission applications, such as stepper motors and servomotors in motion-control systems, and in precision applications where there is a need to compensate for misalignment, maintain constant velocity, and provide axial compliance.
