UltraSmooth Stainless-Steel Plates

Oct. 12, 2006
Oly-Flatbrite continuous millplate is reportedly flatter, smoother, and easier to fabricate than conventional stainless steel. The millplate is especially well suited for fabricating ethanol tanks and vessels.

It is produced by a proprietary cold-rolled, roll-grinding technology with a roughness average of 125, which is almost twice as smooth as typical stainless products. Cold-reduced and temper-passed also makes it flatter than other millplate products. Smooth and flat-surface finishes let fabricators skip typical preparation steps. The 3/16 to 1/2-in.-thick plates are up to 72-in. wide and 600-in. long.
