Tape eliminates rivets, screws

April 1, 2005
The VHB line of tapes offers an alternative to screws, rivets, welding, and other types of fasteners.

Allacrylic construction resists fatigue, temperature extremes, moisture, solvents, and UV light. Unlike mechanical fasteners which concentrate stress, the tape provides a continuous bond that distributes stress along the entire surface. The tape's 100% closed-cell foam forms a durable shield that seals liquids in or out. Viscoelastic properties let the material absorb impact and damp vibration. VHB tapes assemble parts quickly, join dissimilar materials, and compensate for different rates of thermal expansion. They are available in a variety of strengths, thicknesses, and single and double-sided versions.
